Cognitive biases -- a list


Looking for a handy list of cognitive biases? To be sure, the list seems to be growing with every pyschologist getting into the business.

Here's a whitepaper (from a company that wants to sell services) that has a handy listing (and, they are in alphabet order, from Ambiguity effect to Zero-risk bias):
Of course, the best material for project managers still comes from Amos Tversky and Daniel Kahneman. Some of their best stuff is in two appendices of Kahneman's latest book: "Thinking fast and slow"

Take note of two biases of particular importance: Anchor bias and Prospect Theory, both of which we've discussed several times here at Musings. Their effects come up in almost every project, and frequently so. So, it's worth the time to understand the way in which your project may be effected.
